Skin cancer – amongst the most common cancers! Read on to know the safest ways of treating skin cancer!

Cancer is the one of most deadly known diseases. It has many types which inflict upon specific areas of the human body. One of the most common kinds of cancer (second most common cancer according to a study) scanned till date is the skin cancer. It is the most common in people with light colored skin.

This kind of a cancer is not only the most appalling to the eyes, but this particular factor of skin cancer makes it comparatively easier to detect because it usually arises or develops primarily on the outer layer of the skin – the epidermis. But skin cancer doesn’t necessarily attack the whole skin. There are different types of cells in the skin which form tissues and so on. So the skin cancer occurs in specific kinds of cells.
Such skin neoplasms are of many types, amongst which the most common are basal cell cancer (affecting the basal cells of the skin), squamous cell cancer (affecting the squamous cells), melonama cell cancer (affecting the melonama cells) and so on.

The causes of skin cancer can include over exposure to the UV rays of the sun (note that the artificial UV rays, such as tanning beds, can also prove to be very harmful for the skin), usage of tobacco, non-healing ulcers, infections, environmental factors, and others. In many cases than not, sunscreens which have been used to protect the skin from the UV rays, sometimes have a chemical reaction in the skin which may accelerate the process of or act as a mediator in the skin cells determination process leading to skin cancer! In such a case, it is always safer to use ‘natural sunscreens’ which do not contain any point of chemicals in them.

But there is always hope if one has skin cancer because it can be detected at early stages. Most of the skin cancer therapies result in a lot of loss of the tissue, which is of course not only saddening, but very bad as well. But there are other cures as well. Mohs Surgery is one such solution wherein there is a least loss of skin tissue and maximum replenishment. It is best suitable for the previously mentioned types of the most common forms of skin cancer (basal, squamous etc.).

Another way is the laser skin rejuvenation process. This process is not only effective for skin cancer, but also for other aging problems, tattoo allergies, freckles, stretch marks, and many other skin diseases or problems.
